How do you classify an empty stomach? If something has to be taken/eaten on an empty stomach how do you know it's empty? How long before a meal or after a meal is the stomach classed as empty?

Odd question I know but that I'm that way inclined at the moment lol!

Thanks

Usually, with medication it means either half an hour before a meal or at least 2 hours after the last meal. Definitions wise I know that doesn't help you a lot, but some drugs need to be taken with food, some without food, and for some it doesn't matter.
