Bakers complete= Hyper

Bakers complete is highly not recommened due to all the E-numbers which makes dogs/pups hyper big time plus not really good for there digestive system. Thought I'd pass this on.

We found that with our whippet. She's barmy anyway - well, she's a whippet - but as a Pup she never stopped. My mum thought there was something wrong with her. She was having Puppy food at our house and then going round to my grandads and having his dogs Bakers complete. She never stops now, but not as bad as she was.

How do you find it affects your dogs Kittenta?

Do they get the infamous Bakers Bot Rot?

Ours get the meaty meals as treats when out in the park as they are dalmatians and no food = no dog.
I don't feed it them full time as you can tell when they've had it, by the state of their poops.

Having said that, Frolic is far worse!!!

I can't tell what foods make mine hyper as they are anyway!!

To be honest it doesn't affect her in anyway that i've noticed. Saying that she doesn't have loads and she has tinned food as well. I buy her the senior bakers complete.

If you want a food recommendation try Burns, it is an holistic food with no additives or junk, just good old free range meat and brown rice with a few vits thrown in.

I have had my three on it for 5 years now and would not go back to pet shop rhubarb, they have never been healthier.

My dog has had bakers complete since she was tiny, she wouldn't eat tined dog meat so i thought this was a better option for her

Shes a small cairn terrior cross chauaia (sorry can't spell it) and is only two years old and the only time shes giddy is when people pop in

she gets excited and piddles

I've thought recently about switching her food to the ones they sell in the vets, i know there pricey but she doesn't eat alot,

has anyone tryed them?

I don't recommend Science Plan, available at the vet - far worse than Bakers for making them hyper! We ran out of our usual food and mum fed them on Science Plan and I will never never do that again!!!

I fed mine on proplan for a while, then switched to James Wellbeloved and am now feeding CSJ.

I moved onto CSJ because Takara's coat is not in good condition and a breeder recommended CSJ. Also very good for maintaining weight on the dog.
You don't have to feed as much to keep weight on them and it is a lot cheaper than similar brands.
It's a small-ish company as it's family run but they do have stockists throughout the country.

Price ranges - I feed mine on 'That'll Do' which costs £9 for 15kg! (£40 for 15kg of James Wellbeloved)
Or some of the Command Performance range from CSJ costs up to £30 for £15kg.

Also, Eddy's poos have improved a lot! Not hard, but they are formed and soft and Takara's have softened up as she was having trouble for a while on JWB.

PS - I don't think we'd be popular if we stopped feeding Brude his 'rabbit and duck' from Bakers

We tried all sorts of stuff when he was a pup, and tried swapping him back to Pedigree again when he was about 12 months old, but it's Bakers he likes

Different dogs will react to different foods in different ways. What one dog will have no problems with it may make another one sick. Just like humans really, I'm allergic to oranges but my kids aren't! I think it's best to stick with what suits your dog and if you do change make it a gradual change or it will upset them!
