For the best part of four weeks there has been debris in the River Sheaf on Little London Road. The debris looks to be the remnants of a drug - growing factory - extractor units, fans, huge seed trays, water butts, and the like.

It would appear that prior to a police raid the factory owner has decided to dispose of his paraphanelia and dump it all in the river.

This has been reported to the council, environment agency and water authority. Each in turn has decided that the removal of all this debris is not their responsibility.

Hence it has all been left and will no doubt be washed down the river when we have heavy rain.

Who is responsible for removing it? The environment agency has removed items from the river in the past but are now ducking the issue.

Scrap men came along the first day and removed the valuable stuff quickly.
It is all in the river adjacent to Pickerings' factory.

Not much of value, but lots of debris - plenty of plastic bags, broken plastic, containers, foil and the like. It is an unsightly and dangerous mess, and is doing the river no favours!
