BBC Radio Sheffield's Everard Davy is 'set to loose' his breakfast slot.
I don't think I'll be popular for saying this but... good, can't stand his manner.

You're right there, sister.
You won't be popular
I like his breakfast show. It makes the morning slog into work a lot more bearable.

what bothers me is not whether Everard loses his slot (although he is alright with me) but it's what kind of numptie they get in to do it after him....any ideas ?

Radio Sheffield is a bit hit and miss these days.
Everard Davy is a shining light of irreverent humour and acerbic wit in a desert of dopy Antonia Brickell (the new Trisha Cooper) and that sanctimonious woman who's on the late night show 'cos Emmerdale killed her off. They even keep Rony Robinson on for his pensioner rant-ins (sorry I meant phone-ins).
At the moment, Radio Sheffield only has Everard Davy and our own Toby Foster worth turning the radio on for. Both of them are superb!
Even the sport is nadgers these days - bring back Robert Jackson!
If anyone really disagrees just drive down the M1 and listen to the radio from each local BBC station as you go. Alan Partridge radio is alive and well out there!

Except for Everard Davy and Toby Foster
Besides, Radio Sheffield is often the only source of local info I receive, given that:
1) I don't read the Sheffield Star anymore
2) I can barely stomach the Sheffield Star website
3) I haven't received the Sheffield Journal / Gazette in years
4) I don't watch Look Leeds
PS - anyone else out there think Antonia Brickell has a sexy voice Ooooh, her voice sends a shiver down my spine!

Hmm, I can see how that would be a BAD thing - a married bloke with a baby who works the late night club circuit.
His current afternoon slot sounds perfect - he would be bonkers to take them up on it. Mind you - I suspect it pays more, but at what price to life and sanity?
Come on Tobes... true or false?
I've missed Everard Davy this week while he's on holiday - the stand in is better then the usual RS presenter, but she doesn't have the same gravitas, humour or experience. Everard Davy sometimes even makes the 'do something stupid for a ticket' thing entertaining - now that is genius!

I thought he was on holiday. He does long distance cycling and was talking not that long ago about his next campaign to Europe.
Love his style and he has brains too.
Sorry folks but Radio Sheffield is being dummed down down down.
Toby is ok if you like working mens club type of entertainment but I don't. Sorry Toby but you are too laddish for me.
Antonia drives me crazy with her trivial drivvle. Not all women want to talk make-up, diets, fashion etc etc.
I used to be an avid local radio listener but now listen mostly to Radio 2 and 4.

The only locally based Radio Station we ever have on (apart from Phan FM ) is Magic AM, based in the same building on Halifax Road as Hallam FM.

If you think Antonia Brickette is bad you should listen to that obseqious woman on the BBC Late show.Talk about cliches. She uses every one.I thought it was a send up like Glenda Slagg but she's for real.Think she decides on the night's topics as she drives to the studio.Do you like jam or marmalade?Town or country?Men -better drivers than us women -don't make me laugh.A survey in Barnsley has shown that local lasses are up for it ten times a night.Come on ladies what do you get up to in your jimjams blah blah....Oh do you sleep in the buff..or your M& S wyncies..Bless ...oh I nearly knocked me cuppa over..b;ah blah for
another two hours..Been there got the tee shirt..love him to bits..
blah blah..

Apparently she is Stuart Hall's daughter. Makes sense eh?
Stuart Hall - A God of broadcasting
Alex Hall - Oh God, is she broadcasting?
She inherited the motor mouth, but not the brains and charm!

If hes gone good, I think he liked to humiliate people on air.
Just need to get rid of the one who can steer any conversation round to his left wing views. He could turn a conversation about custard into how evil Thatcher was.

Didn't realize she was the daughter of Stuart Hall.
The story goes he had a company called Stuart Hall International
Travel -an acronym that fits his daughter's programme....six packs..
blah blah ..stretch limo..bless...tell me about it...who wants to know..give us a call ladies..another survey has revealed that Yorkshire lasses are naked under their clothes..come off it..
(Think I have contracted the Alex Halls )

What a load of cobblers.
Her dad is an ordinary old boy in his 80s living in the NE. She regularly talks about him and you can rest assured that he is not Stuart Hall. Get your facts right.
