Yes its called the back garden!
Just open the door they find their own fun.
Cats are very territorial & won't take to be taken to strange places where other stranger cats are. They make there own territory at home & as such don't like other cats crossing it.
They are technically a wild animal.

Cats dont play and socialise with other cats very easily, they're not like dogs you cant take them to cat socialisation classes,as the previous thread they are very territorial you'll probably frighten them to death and how will you stop them running off

Have to say the thought of a cat playground is quite entertaining.....just picturing a roundabout stopping and lots of dizzy cats getting off......lol
my cats would hate to be taken to such a place...they much prefer the garden where there are rabbits/mice/birds........which also provides me with excerise when i have to relieve them off their pray and set it free while holding onto cat...!!

Lol my cats would LOVE a cat theme park.
PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME FOLKS. My cats are like the men on Jackass!
When they were younger, favourite games included:
*Being spun round in the lid of the trivial pursuit box until they were dizzy. They would always get in for this one- Bas would even get as low down as she could in the box as if she was clinging on for dear life.
*Being pushed in the Trivial pursuit lid about 10 foot across the floor. They would fight for whose turn it was.
*Climbing to the top of the mattress length end on whenever the valance was changed on the bed. Games then included barfly - being thrown at the mattress and jumping from the top onto the base. Also 'who can push each other off the top?' was very popular.
* Being inside a sheet that was being taken off the bed and swung like a swing and occasionally over.
*Being put under the cover and then playing mouse from the top so they would catch your claws.

They came back time and time again for all of these! Reading this makes me feel like reporting me to the RSPCA!!

My aunt used to have a very small, extremely shy cat called Bilbo, who was vicious in the extreme with people that she didn't know, but liked a bit of rough and tumble with my aunt.

Her favourite game was being picked up by her paws and swung from them like a little swing. She wasn't very sociable though, and killed anything that came too close, including a fox and several hares.

Cool name for a cat!

So, what would the cat theme park have?

Instead of waltzers there'd be a big feather on a rope that swung round, and all the cats would be tearing after it like mad dervishes. The Tunnel of love would be a whole series of cardboard boxes and bags, whereas the Ghost Train would be made scary by having hoover noises piped in. The Log Flume could stay the same, or maybe be combined with the Ghost Train.

Food stands would sell meat dishes with extra gravy and jelly that was designed to be licked off, the meat could then just be thrown away. Drinks could be got from big replica plugholes and puddles filled with stagnant water.

The theme park would open at 10.30pm, the traditional time for cats everywhere to run through the house with bogbrush tails, screeching and wailing.

try this it will keep you & your cat busy

Wrapping Presents with a Cat

1. Clear large space on table for wrapping present.

2. Go to closet and collect bag in which present is contained, and shut door.

3. Open door and remove cat from closet.

4. Go to cupboard and retrieve rolls of wrapping paper.

5. Go back and remove cat from cupboard.

6. Go to drawer, and collect transparent sticky tape, ribbons, scissors, labels, etc. . .

7. Lay out presents and wrapping materials on table, to enable wrapping strategy to be formed.

8. Go back to drawer to get string, remove cat that has been in the drawer since last visit and collect string.

9. Remove present from bag.

10. Remove cat from bag.

11. Open box to check present, remove cat from box, replace present.

12. Lay out paper to enable cutting to size.

13. Try and smooth out paper, realize cat is underneath and remove cat.

14. Cut the paper to size, keeping the cutting line straight.

15. Throw away first sheet as cat chased the scissors, and tore the paper.

16. Cut second sheet of paper to size - by putting cat in the bag the present came in.

17. Place present on paper.

18. Lift up edges of paper to seal in present. Wonder why edges don't reach. Realize cat is between present and paper. Remove cat.

19. Place object on paper, to hold in place while tearing transparent sticky tape.

20. Spend 20 minutes carefully trying to remove transparent sticky tape from cat with pair of nail scissors.

21. Seal paper with sticky tape, making corners as neat as possible.

22. Look for roll of ribbon. Chase cat down hall in order to retrieve ribbon.

23. Try to wrap present with ribbon in a two-directional turn.

24. Re-roll ribbon and remove paper, which is now torn due to cat's enthusiastic ribbon chase.

25. Repeat steps 13-20 until you reach last sheet of paper.

26. Decide to skip steps 13-17 in order to save time and reduce risk of losing last sheet of paper. Retrieve old cardboard box that is the right size for sheet of paper.

27. Put present in box, and tie down with string.

28. Remove string, open box and remove cat.

29. Put all packing materials in bag with present and head for locked room.

30. Once inside lockable room, lock door and start to relay out paper and materials.

31. Remove cat from box, unlock door, put cat outside door, close and relock.

32. Repeat previous step as often as is necessary (until you can hear cat from outside door)

33. Lay out last sheet of paper. (This will be difficult in the small area of the toilet, but do your best)

34. Discover cat has already torn paper. Unlock door go out and hunt through various cupboards, looking for sheet of last year's paper. Remember that you haven't got any left because cat helped with this last year as well.

35. Return to lockable room, lock door, and sit on toilet and try to make torn sheet of paper look presentable.

36. Seal box, wrap with paper and repair by very carefully sealing with sticky tape. Tie up with ribbon and decorate with bows to hide worst areas.

37. Label. Sit back and admire your handiwork, congratulate yourself on completing a difficult job.

38. Unlock door, and go to kitchen to make drink and feed cat.

39. Spend 15 minutes looking for cat until coming to obvious conclusion.

40. Unwrap present, untie box and remove cat.

41. Go to store and buy a gift bag

Don't say that in front of my two! They'd go barmy! You don't throw perfectly good (or terrible for that matter) meat away! Food is food is food!

g13b, At a cattery the cats won't be allowed out to play with each other, they'd probably rip each other to bits to be honest!

I would suggest using pet walkiz or similar company, not because I have experience of their work (I can't recommend them as I've never used them) but because they will come to your house and look after your cat in the safety of it's own home rather than scaring the brown stuff out of it by taking it elsewhere to look after it.

Remember, even at a cattery, they do not get the attention they usually get at home. I've never used a cattery but remember my dad doing some work at one and they had cages for the cats, not much space to run in and very little one on one time with them, don't know if they're all like this.

I doubt a young cat would be that frightened by a child to be honest, as long as the child was supervised, it'd probably do the cat good to experience that.

I wasn't getting at you. Trust me, the cat will be very happy with you. They just don't play with other cats like dogs play with other dogs. They are different animals.

They are not wild animals, they are the domesticated cat, hence not wild but they do still have a lot of the hunting instincts of wild cats which keeps them busy.

Your cat will love to play with you, you can buy cat toys that enable you to play with your cat rather than cat playing by itself you hold on to the stick and waggle the fluffy tail that hangs off your cat will chase it. This means it's using it's natural instincts but you get to play too and it knows that it's spending time with you.

Most cats much prefer the company of people to other animals and will lead a happy life with you.
