Hi, I want to get there but dont know any taxis that would take dogs, especially as it might rain and buses are rubbish on sundays especially with 2 labradors smelling like wet dog but bus drivers off.
Anyone any ideas? I live near sheffield wednesday football ground if anyone know any taxis or has any ideas?

I can go!!!!
Pink Fairy - it's nothing daunting you all stand in the ring together and it depends what novelty group you enter as to whether you move around the ring I think!
It's good fun! Come along and give it a go!

Ring your usual taxi service, and tell them you are transporting dogs, and they will try to find a driver who doesn't mind taking them. If you can also tell them you have a car seat cover, or a boot cover (if you ask for an estate), you may be in with a better chance
Brude has been in taxis before, but he's small, and we weren't going very far, but one bloke who was planning to refuse to take us changed his mind when we produced a seat cover (clean dog blanket)
Edit: after the week I've just had, I'm afraid we're wussing on this one, in favour of a peaceful beach walk with Mr Strix's mum
We've got our fancy dress oufit for the next one though Bobtail (and you are going to laugh when you see it )

Did anyone else go to this toady? I did, my choc lab came third in waggiest tail and 4th in dog judge would like to take home.
She never picked a golden lab for anything, she didnt even look at them properly! If she didnt like them then fair enough but she could at least have given them the time off day!
and for prettiest bitch she picked an ugly butch looking dog, not in anyones eyes was it pretty!
Everyone was saying she wasnt very good in the novelty judging!

Buster got 2nd for "best six legs" and 3rd for "Pedigree terrier".
We have a Springer (the one who weed in the ring). She's only a baby and we didn't expect her to win but it would have been nice if the judge had at least looked at her. The man with the red box had us in stitches, we saw him putting mascara on the dogs before the show.
In total agreement with the prettiest bitch winner, not at all attractive and pretty overweight if you ask me.
The Judge definately had a thing for terriers.
Still, we all had great fun, Buster had a go on the agility course and loved it.
Your chocolate Lab was gorgeous Danielle.
I could never take it as seriously as some of them though.
My dogs are for having fun and companionship.

I was there with Sarah and Ray Greyhounds and lurcher Sol. Silly me went off to get Sol a chew and managed to get back too late to show him in the veteran class. Doh!

Mine was a white collie, she got 4th in Best Crossbreed. Mr Tess couldn't believe the chap with the dog with the red box, kept saying it wasn't a dog, just a status symbol!!

I wholeheartedly agree with that!! Dog owning should be fun. Tess also had a go on the agility, refused point blank to do the weaves and barked the whole way round!!!!

I was there! With the mad dalmatian that didn't run very well in AV Utility (she was too busy sniffing the grass).
There were two dalmatians, I was the one with the smaller female dally on the show lead. The other lady had only come for a walk and thought she'd join in!
The other dally was 8 months old and towered over Takara! He was fab!
I'm afraid we didn't manage to stay for the novelty classes as my leg was hurting and Takara was getting fidgety!
We didn't get placed in any classes but I did notice the judge had a 'thing' for fluffy/long haired dogs, she didn't even look at Takara in our second class.
I also didn't really think some of the winners moved as well as the judge seemed to think although some were very good! But hey - I'm not the judge!
We enjoyed our show practice anyway and it was great to meet PinkFairy and Tess667 and to see BobtailBabe again.
