Went to see Madonna last night at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff last night and although she put on a great show, I came away feeling slightly disappointed. She was fantastic and her dancers were amazing. I don't think she did enough of her old stuff and the ones she did she updated almost beyond recognition. you'd have thought everyone would have been on their feet dancing the whole time, but they weren't and there were times when I found myself gazing around at what members of the audience were doing. I know she has reinvented herself numerous times over the years, but the older ones are the songs that have put her where she is today and I think a lot of people were also expecting more of them. The other thing is she and her dancers came in in two range rovers behind the stage and they left in the same way after she had sung her last song. There was no goodbye and no encore. Still, the show was really well put together.
Oh and I overheard a girl complaining to a friend on the phone that she and her mate had both bought a programme for £25 EACH and they were just full of pictures - no writing! Rip off!

Are you sure you were in the right place?

That show was brilliant!!!!

From the moment she burst out of the diamond encrusted, 7 foot high disco ball and began singing "I feel love", me and everyone else from the 58 0000 people that I could see in the room were dancing our little pink cowboy hats off!

It was camp, glam, slutty, funny (Writhing around on a carousel saddle dressed part jockey, part prostitute whilst singing "Like a Virgin" as pictures of her broken bones after her fall were projected behind her), funky, sexy and ultimately everything you would expect from Madonna.

And of the 21 songs on the set list, 9 of them were "oldies". (Although why you would pay to see Madonna's Confessions Tour and then be dissapointed when she sings most of the tunes from Confessions is beyond me)!

I Love New York and Ray of Light was my highlight of the evening.

Also if she got out in her 4x4 and beat that traffic coming out of Cardiff then she did well. Personally I would have taken the helicopter.

(Oh and tour mechandise is always expensive.)

Like Deavon says, it was the Confessions Tour so there was bound to be a whole load of disco-tastic new tunes... personally I think its one of her best albums so I'm looking forward to seeing them all done live. Sure we'd all love all the oldies too but that was done in her last tour Reinvention which was full of classic hits.

I've seen clips of the tour and the revamped oldies are amazing.. Music mashed up with Disco Inferno looks like the highlight of the show to me!

Madonna never does encores.. just how it is. I think she plays long enough, considering the amount of dancing, singing, costume changes and general brilliance that goes into those two hours!

I'm going on the 9th... wish I'd got tickets for more nights now.. apparently touts were selling cheap outside cardiff!!!
