If you're a council tenant, I suggest that you get their permission in writing before doing anything. If you look in the for sale items on this forum it is entirely possible that you could find a decent shower/bath to replace the one they've fitted in error. Know how you feel - been there and got that t-shirt more times than I care to contemplate with my cretin of a lanlord.

Permission will be needed although if they know you are getting professionals in they rarely have an objection unless you change how the room will function for any possible later tenants.

If you are installing the unit in the same place this will make the decision easier and the job cheaper.

PM us with details and we may even be able to assist with arrangements with your local authority.

We have just installed a walk in shower in place of a bath for an elderly lady who could no longer get into the bath.
