I wish the council would employ people to pick up litter, they have litter pickers in town, why not have them everywhere. There is always litter in front of our house, all over the street in fact, lowering the tone of the neighbourhood (no sarky comments please). They should put more bins out on the streets and indeed doggy waste bins cos there are none of those anywhere. Right, done moaning now!

Interesting how it's always the council's fault

Why aren't you ranting about the scum who drop the litter in the first place?

We have a council employee who picks litter up in Woodhouse, but the litter bins are provided by the parish council, and I know I'm not the only person round here who clears litter up from outside their own house

My daughter was down at the canal basin last Sunday morning ... minding her own business and thinking how lovely it looked, when some moron threw an empty can into a previously litter free canal.

Yeah I know we should blame the morons who dropped the litter in the first place but if nobody came and cleared it away from time to time i.e the council or whoever then we would be walking in stuff knee deep. I do clear the stuff away from in front of our house but the next day or so its littered again. Why cant people put rubbish in the bins that are provided or take their litter home with them.

Because we live in a society that believes 'my rights' are worth far more than the greater good? Because if it isn't in their back yard they don't care?

If they brought in legislation to line up litterlouts infront of a firing squad, far more people would think before they slung litter about

It’s not the Council's fault that litter has been dropped. If you have got a problem with litter then phone Street Force (273 4567).

Instead of complaining about it do something about it, to be honest it’s about time people were properly reprimanded for dropping litter. Maybe it would be a deterrent for the idiots who drop it.

I know its not the Council's fault that litter is dropped but someone should be in charge of cleaning the streets and keeping them clean, why should we live in a litter strewn place eh!

I Also Live At Shiregreen Michelle 123, Jillybabes, Haven't You Noticed There Are No Bins Around The Public Areas Ie Shops Takeaways Etc? My House Is On A Corner And Everyday I Have To Go Out And Pick Litter OfF My Garden That People Carelessly Discard. Don't Know Why There Is Any Relevance To It Being A Corner House, Just That I Seem To Gather The Rubbish From Two Streets. To Be Fair To Streetforce Though, But I Have Seen Street Cleaning Quite A Lot Round Here In Recent Months And At Quite Odd Times Like Early In The Evening, That Did Impress ME But Don't Know Why.

You dont have too. But instead of coming on to here and moaning about it, do something about it.

Phone streetforce and they will come to do the street cleaning. You can also request litter bins (how sucessful you'll be i dont know)

Just be a bit pro active. If you dont tell streetforce the rubbish is there how are they supposed to know about the problem.
