I'm looking at taking a group (about 10) on a paintballing day. There are a few sites in Sheffield but it's hard to tell if they live up to their websites. Has anyone been recently to give an idea. The two i looked at where Skirmish at worksop way and Goballistic near the strine (you get grenades ) but any others you know would be good.

Cheers

There was a place called Ambush that I've used a few times, they're based out near the Strines too - thing is I've heard rumor they've dropped paintball in favor of airsoft. Dunno if its true but if its not then they're well worth going with - we had a fantastic time with them every time we went.

My other half went to Goballistic in Nottinghamshire at the weekend. He said it was ok, but he's been to better. Generally the site was too small for the number of games they had set up so you were always on top of each other and there was too much cover so it always ended up in a sort of stalemate. This in turn meant that they all used far more paintballs than really necessary, making it pretty expensive and also that they never actually completed a mission. He also said the land appeared to have plough tracks all through it which was hazardous to say the least when running.

I may be worth calling to check out those sorts of things, I don't know how similar the Goballistic sites will be.

i went to skirmish last year for my 21st and had a really good time. they do different types of games and can group you against another group. i would recommend them. make sure you take some cash for refreshements if you go half day and some extra balls!

Cheers for that. I assume most try to get you using more paint. Sheff Goballistic has more zones than Nottingham but you don't get an idea wether they are the size of a tennis court or a football pitch.

http://www.strinesairsoft.co.uk/ - That's the airsoft one, as already hinted by chimaera, this is the old Ambush paintball site.
(Old website: http://www.ambushpaintballgames.co.uk/)

Skirmish: http://www.skirmishpaintballgames.co...%20address.htm

Go Ballistic: http://www.gobalistic.net/

The only one I have used is the ambush one, which was very good, but as said, it doesn't do paintball anymore.

Bawtry Paintball Fields is absolutely great - everyone I know who's been there says it's the best site they've been to. They take safety very seriously as well which can only be a good thing. Equipment is good for rental stuff and you can get a zero fog mask which helps no end - not good your mask fogging up when there's rounds flying around your head

Course wise there's all sorts - Vietnamese village, crashed helicopter, bridges and even a big tree fort to run about in.
