HI all

Just been to Hobbycraft (not keen on the place but you can get everything at once I guess)

I just got:

6mm crochet hook
large stitch holder
knitters gauge
cable stitch needles
Yarn Bobbins.

They also had in the same wool as I used for my chunky scarf, but also in a finer yarn (tweed DK) so I've bought two balls and i'm going to make some mittens/gauntlets/whatevers easiest with that.

not bad for under £15 really for the lot.

And I have no excuse now for not being able to 'have a go' at things

I was in the Hobbycraft in Northampton earlier in the week. I was quite surprised at the range of Yarn they had. Obviously there wasn't any Koigu etc, but there was a good range of Rowan, RYC, Sirdar and Patons, plus lots of books.

I must admit to not being a massive fan of the place either. I think they try to cater to too many tastes (as befits the name, I guess), and so end up just doing everything superficially. There was no air-conditioning in the branch I was in either, so it was sweltering!

Yarn bobbins and cable needles? We'll have you doing intarsia and aran knitting in no time .

I was suprised when I was in Hobbycraft the other day that they stocked Rowan now. They seemed to be priced competitively for wool too but dont seem to stock bamboo needles - yet

Mine had some bamboo needles in!

Only one size tho, and the Pony circular needles, but from the posts on here I think i'll go for the addi ones when I want to go for that.

Mine only seem to stock Sirdar and Rowan, and some of the patterns date back to the 50's lol.
