I've had problems this weekend with picture and sound break-ups, and the "no satellite signal is being received" message. I've done the usual unplugging and restarting thing but it keeps coming back.

Anybody else had any trouble? Freakish atmospheric conditions perhaps, or else my box is on the blink!

Thank God I can still get the World Cup through my terrestrial aerial...

I've always put it down to the warm weather, possibly sun spots. You get a similar thing in winter when you get heavy snow.

hello al_partridge.
how old is your box please. The reason i am asking is because this is the second time that this has happened to our sky box. I contacted sky and they wanted another £60 to come and repair or replace the sky box.
I told them that we had it only 2 years old but they said that it was only guarenteed for 3 months and we would have to pay.
we had been told by someone that the sky boxes are only reconditioned ones, this is the reason why they keep going on the blink. we did not bother taking the warrenty out we declined as it was cheaper to pay when we needed them to come and replace the sky box.

We cancelled sky and are just waiting for cable to switch us back on which will be on the 22nd of july. cable is cheaper and if something goes wrong with the box they will come out immediatly and replace or repair the box free if it is not your fault. so cable have our thumbs up as we know that cable is much better quality than sky any day.

We get that message sometimes on some channels and not others...usually i just switch it over to another channel then put it back. If its all the channels then i switch off at the mains and leave it for a minute. I think it is because of weather conditions...happens often in the winter

Cable is no way better than sky. There billing system is terrible the cost is only marginally better but you get less channels. The menu on sky and interactive services are miles better too.

Had it quite a few years now. If it gets too bad I just switch it off and let it reset up.
