Are you the person behind your Forum persona or are you a totally different person away from the Forum fraternity. Be honest are you really the person you portray to be .

Yes it is me. And it's interesting seeing how differently people respond to my words alone without making assumptions or judgements based on my appearance, accent, age etc as they sometimes do in real life, when my opinions and jokes are substantially the same.

Yes, it's me. I'm pretty much what you read is what you get; apart from the hidden depths, of course...

its amazing.. how well i get along with people in the Forum.. i think probably if i met any of you in life.. we would be the best of friends =o)

i have no idea what most of you look like.. but i think thats a positive.. cos im not basing my friendship on looks or age =o) which is very rare in reality

I've always (with a few exceptions, lol) found that when I have actually met people after talking on the forums....they are usually as I imagined.

I am in real life as I appear on the forum, bad tempered, racist, homophobic, a really nice guy!

Well, I'm not a real-life cowgirl (though can be seen dressed as one on in Sheffield Sat 1st July!) but all else is absolutely me. If anything, I'm more open and feel I have more of a chance to speak my mind and make my point than in verbal conversation... in real life, I just might end up relying too much on my lassoo and tassles ha ha

I haven’t met anyone from this forum who I didn’t know before but i have heard from a regular forumer that the Dev Cat group is mostly a bunch of back stabbers. They also said they all seem to act so friendly welcoming and nice online, but offline and in the real world their not the same.

I’m not taking shots at anyone here just saying what I’ve heard.

Cheers

I honestly have no idea! I either believe or don’t believe in all sorts of things. I’ll crusade for anything if I think it’s right, or not when I know it isn’t right. On principle, I never buy a Poppy for Armistice Day because for me it will always be associated with a particularly nasty first world war Field Marshal (Haigh) who once headed it. But I do give an occasional donation to the Royal British Legion to make up for it. I prefer animals to people, but if any person needed my help and I could give it, I would. If a lady asked me whether I liked her new outfit, I’d tell the truth regardless of the consequences. For example, I once attended a gathering at which the Mayoress of my local Borough was present, respendent in a real fur coat. She mentioned the fact, so I commented — loudly in a crowded room — that it would have looked better on the live animal. She took offence and so did my editor, who told me later in life that she had told her friends and colleagues about my candour, and declared that she would never wear real fur again!

Actually, I suppose I’m just a funny old stick, pleased to still be among the living, while fervently wishing that some others were not. I don’t know the name of my next-door neighbour, although I’ve lived where I am for the last 24 years. As an employer, I’m easy to get along with, probably because they think I don’t know anything at all about the lame excuses they make for having a day off. I could go on and on, like old men do, but sufficient to say, make your own minds up.

P.S. My years in journalism have transformed me into a cynic, but that happens in other professions too. (edited) Ah, Yes! And my brother, who is totally different to me and doesn’t think in advance, once decided that I was racist. I didn’t bother arguing with him. He’s a Labur left-winger, which just about says it all! Hope you’re reading this, brother. (he reads SF occasionally)
