Does anyone believe that if you really really want something to happen it will ?I dont, but Iv got a friend who is convinced a relationship is going to go her way just because she is dead set in her mind that it will !!

I don't think you can force anything to happen simply because you want it enough. However, if the thing you want is obtainable after some effort, then the force of will should give you extra impetus required to work hard to get it.
As for the relationship, no matter how much you want something to work its equally dependent on the other person isn't it? If that person doesn't feel the love then it won't work no matter how much you will it to.

Things do happen if you 'will' them to, simply because you probably put more effort into them. The trick is to recognise when you are 'willing' something to happen which is really impossible and move on , not something i am particularly good at!!

Was it Einstein who said "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might find you get what you need" ?

I don't know? was it? I thought more rolling stones.
I thought he discover E=mc (squared) and also the theory on dark matter/energy, or was that someone else?
I know sir isaac newton decided to push a pencil behind his eyeball ( to see what would happen) and stared at the sun until he went partially blind - again just to see what would happen. mmmmm?

Almost certainly YES. You can will things to happen that relate to you and your relationships but obviously not things that aren't (like the lottery)
It is possible (and in fact inevitable) to influence other people's behaviour with yours. This is being made into a science called Neurolinguistic Programming (Google it) which claims to re-programme you and those around you to obtain the result you want. Sales people lap this sort of stuff up.
Actually there is a mind game you can play that makes it looks like you can affect events beyond control. Try this. When driving to somewhere you need to park, as you drive, picture to yourself an empty space in the perfect empty spot. Make the picture big and bright and imagine what you would see and hear as you appraoch the empty space. I am not joking when I say that if you really believe it, there will be a space waiting for you when you get there. This sounds stupid but it has worked so many times for me. Meadowhall; town on a saturday; at the pictures right next to the entrance etc etc.
It's actually about manipulating your own expectations ..but try it anyway.

You can also use it to get someone to call you, believe it or not. You visualise them doing what you think they may be doing at that time. Then visualise them going to the phone and dialling your number (dialling every digit) , then visualise them pausing and smiling when they hear you answer.
Try it
