Suppliers of high-fat, high-salt, tasteless food horrors.

I hate them with every cell in my body.

Well, I would if I could be bothered to hate anything or anyone.

Vile purveyors of mind and body-polluting rubbish.

Shall I just tell it like it is?

To be honest- id prefer to have a take out from macdonalds than a takeout from a local chinese- i would say that the maccys would be better made and have less crap in it!

I love mcdonalds but only go once every couple of months.
The advert says that they only use 100% beef for their burgers and don't add anything else apart from salt. Surely this must be true or they would get done for false advertising?
I wrote an essay on Mcdonalds and there crisis management in my third year at uni so did a lot of research into them. They have come along way since the 90s and the mclibel case and they are trying hard to generate a better image hence all the 'healthy'options.
But tell me this... who would want carrot sticks with their burger instead of chips or actually go to Mcds for a salad?
Anyway I think they get a lot of stick - they don't force people to eat their food so what's the problem.
It is also a lot better for you than a chip shop meal... why do the chip shops never get any stick?

I was honestly gutted when they did away with the Big Tasty but I will be rejoicing in a couple of weeks time when they bring out the Mega Mac for the world cup yipee!!!!

No, but they aggressively and effectively market to children. Did you know McDonalds is the worlds biggest toy manufacturer? Well you do now.

Because most chip shops are not enormous multinational conglomerates and have neither the revenue nor clout to carry out large ad campaigns to encourage brand loyalty.

Agent I don't understand what is wrong with encouraging brand loyalty/ marketing to children. I know there is a big debate about the marketing of junk food to kids but I'm afraid I think it's up to the parents to control what exactly they buy for their kids. I don't think we can blame child obesity on companies like McDonalds, it's the parents who buy it for them/give the money to the kids to buy it.

Everythign in moderation - McD's isn't exactly healthy but once ina while won't harm you. That's if you actually like it

I find advertising aimed at children leaves a sour taste in my mouth. McDonalds are filth.

Lol did you have a bad experience as a child Gypo? Left cowering behind the sofa as the cheese-strings kid grinned at you from the tv, brandishing his chewy plastic cheese?

Yup. Though I don't watch much tv, particularly during the day, so I rarely see them now.

Nah, my field is graphic design, and I spend a lot of time breaking down brand communications and seeing how they work.

I think McDonalds is great - love the burgers there. When I have kids, i'll let them go to Maccy D's as often as they want!
