Okay, so you may have seen me post replies on Newfield school before, saying it's good etc.
I WAS WRONG.
people are right to say it is the worst school in sheffield. even in the new building there is still no difference. I can't wait to leave and will get out of that school at the first chance possible.
It needs to be blown up with all them little rats still inside.

newfield school is the greatest school [prison] in sheffield [NOT] and they have just moved into a building with clean walls [a great space for graffiti] and shiny tables [chewing gum sticks GREAT] and they have lots of computers [which are tyoys for the dumber kids and get broken easily] and trolleys of laptops [which usually are never charged giving students an excuse to do no work] in some classes the teachers are allowing kids to sit with their friends and socialise [MUCK ABOUT] and get on with [distract other peoples] learning.
sounds great.

Gabzterg - Just because you have a problem with school I find it very sad that you have to pull down our school to get others to think the worst of our school.
The school has definitely improved and I have been at the school a lot longer than you have. Our brand new building has made a difference as we now have an excellent learning environment where I definitely feel safe.
Our headteacher is almost certainly the best the school as ever had (and I have seen a few) and she is committed in sorting out our school. She is working closely with Ofsted and the local authority to turn our school around and in my opinion things are certainly going in the right direction. Ofsted will not leave our school until everything is put right.
So if you have a problem with the school, get your parents to go and see the headteacher and I am sure it will get sorted out. The headteacher wrote in her last letter to parents that if there were any issues or concerns she should be contacted.

Newfield Secondary School
I recently visited Newfield School on their open evening to have a good look around. I was very impressed at what I saw. Newfield School moved to this fabulous new building in January 2009 and now offers students an excellent learning environment.
The Headteacher - Dr Bains, the deputy head and all the assistant heads were very professional and answered any questions I had very honestly. The whole team were very focussed on their commitment in bringing about constant improvements for the school and this is outlined in their latest Ofsted visit which hi-lights that the school is making satisfactory progress.
As a parent with a child already attending Newfield school and another child yet to start secondary school I have to appreciate that things are not going to happen over night but I do feel that since Dr Bains joined the school and re-defined the roles of her learnership team things are on the up at Newfield school.
Some of the older pupils may have had some bad times in the past in the ‘old school’ and with the old regime but now we have to look forward and appreciate the new school is ‘under new management’ and thank Ofsted for stepping in when they did. Ofsted will not leave this school until they are satisfied that any weaknesses throughout the school are put right.
New teachers have recently joined the school and a number of staff have left.
I found that during open evening the teachers I spoke to were very passionate about teaching at Newfield School and for pupils to learn to their best potential.
The pupils I spoke to said attitudes towards leaning are more positive, any disruption was getting sorted and they felt the school was a safe learning environment.
Obviously, like any other secondary school with 1000 pupils or more, there are going to be issues with some pupils but as parents we should support our school and all work together to sort it out. Lets turn any negative vibes into positive solutions that the school can and will sort out.
We are encouraged by Dr Bains to contact the school immediately with any concerns so it can be sorted before it becomes an issue.
Lets all work together in making Newfield School the best in our area.

yes, i have had problems to do with the school - not just school itself - it was about three weeks ago. my parents phoned the school to talk about it, and they were told they would be "called back as soon as" and that was about three weeks ago, and a similar thing happened to my friend.
i have two brothers and a few family friends who have attended this school who have all also seen the worst of it.

Hallam_FC, i'm not surprised at one bit of that.
and that only took three months, and imagine some people have to stay five years.
i may sound a little harsh when i talk about newfield hell school, but it's from my experience, the people in my family and my friends' experience. i may have only been there a year and a bit but i know many people who have been there and have had the same hell as me.

Gabzterg - If I had a problem with the school I would not wait 3 weeks for a reply. Your parents need now to go over the head of the person they originally spoke to. Its time to go straight to the headteacher or her PA. Good luck

no, that was just the last time. we first contacted the school almost a month ago, and it we'd contacted them about four or five times before we got tired of it.

in fact, screw that. anyone bringing down newfield is correct. don't tell me that it's fine to get fireworks shot at you. it missed us by just half an inch and we were both wearing flammable things.
