Mines got to be Planet Rock. It's what DAB was invented for. I can't believe a radio station can play such fantastic music all the time

The Arrow's miles better! PR is stuck in a time warp; The Arrow plays more up to date and eclectic stuff, as well as the 'classics'.

Its got to be Planet Rock, The Arrow's OK but it will insist on playing Oasis and describing it as rock.

Radio 6. Some of the shows at the weekend at very good. But what's with that new stupid Sunday morning show? Sounds like Wrighty & Brighty.

Quite so, Fudbeer. I enquired some time ago about their transmission technology, given that they are limited to 128kbps (ideal is 256kbps, Radio 3 is 192kbps). They apparently use some sort of equalisation and tweaking (I'm not an engineer) to present the best sound. Lots of hi-fi buffs reckon DAB broadcasts are pants because radio authorities have crammed in too many stations, reducing the bitrate to below hi-fi levels: this may be true, but to my ears The Arrow sounds almost as good as my CD player, and vastly better than P****t R**k and Radio 2.

I agree with Tony,
Radio 6. It is the most eclectic of the stations because they dont seem to have a playlist. The problem with planet rock is they tend to only play the same famous songs by the great rock bands. What I want to hear is the album tracks the "wonderful peel sessions" and the songs which are rarely heard. Sure "stairway" is a legendary song by one of the greatest bands ever, but it is not the only song they ever wrote, and if I hear it at the same time on the same day each week I am going to enjoy it a little less each time, when it would be better to hear something strange off the Coda album or something else once in a while.
When it is announced that they are going to play something by AC/DC you just know it is going to be either "Whole lotta rosie". I want to hear something from the 1978 Powerage album.

It's all down to individual taste really. Whilst I like most of the stuff PR plays, it gets a bit tedious after a while. A previous poster complained of Oasis being categorised as rock - you won't hear them on PR , but they're on The Arrow quite a bit. I have to switch stations then because I hate them with a vengeance. However, other bands that can be categorised as rock (rock is surely more than just heavy rock and metal) can be heard on the Arrow. For example, I'd never previously heard of Mazzy Star or The Sundays, but now have albums by both.
Didn't like R6 much, but in the light of previous comments feel inclined to give it another go.
