or www.1and1.co.uk (who I moved to from 123-reg).

.com domains are usually only registered for a year at a time (you'll get notification to renew automatically!). It'll cost you around £8ish, but this will depend on the service provider you use.

1and1 are actually pretty good as far as features go, so I'd recommend them.

I wouldn't touch 1and1 with a 10ft barge pole (who gorra barge poll).
Heard so many bad stories about them... once you have a domain registered it's difficult to get to leave etc.

I have been with 123-reg.co.uk for about 3 years now and their features are spot on and so is the service so I can't fault em.

Everyone has their own experience tho I expect.

If you want cheaper .com domains try www.godaddy.com

didn;t have any trouble transferring away from 1and1 although their customer services is poor. avg 48 hours to return an email and 0870 call charge for speaking to a human.

Have a couple of domains with them pointed elsewhere as they are the cheapest for domains only.

1and1, have caused me much grief in the past. You have to find a very cleverly hidden form off the site, that you then need to sign it, send an email request, reply to the email request auto send, which always comes at a random time. It also appears to be junk, but hidden in the email is the fax number to send the form... the form you can't post!!!

Awful, awful, awful!

123-reg are far better

I personally went with Bannana hosting, advertised on here. They are fantastic.

Just don't go with Fasthosts.co.uk, a former MSN contact of mine works for them and he was a complete tool, one of these morons who thinks he knows everything there is to know about everything but in reality he knows sod all.

I've always found 123-reg good, also Namesco (names.co.uk).
