found a large flat lump under my female dogs leftside near her nipple, took her to the vets who did a biopsy and found out it is cancer.
she is not showing any signs of pain,is active and has a healthy appetite.
the vet has said they wont remove it because it would just come back and spread to her bloodstream and while it isn,t bothering we should just leave it.vet said she could be fine for another 2/3yrs with no problems.
has anyone else had a simalar situation with there dog?
and has anyone tried herbal supplements to help stop the cancer growing, read tumeric and ginger can kill new cancer cells.
i know if she lives to 14 i,ll be lucky an this is a good age ,her mum is 13/5 and still with us although starting to get a little stiff on her back legs.

I know how you are feeling.
We lost our Westie boy last August to lymphoma a nd bowel tumours. Max was young and otherwise fit at diagnosis and did have Chemotherapy for 3 1/2 years. Anyway as soon as he was diagnosed we were advised to try propolis tincture. He had 3 drops on his food once a day. Not sure if this helped to keep him fit and well for another 3 years but he did lead a very happy healthy life during this time.
You can now get it from holland and barret and it costs about £6 but lasts for ages.
Good luck with your girl give her lots of good times and enjoy life.

Hope she is doing ok: labs are cast-iron dogs normally. Make the most of the time she has and take lots of photos and videos. We lost our beloved first dobe Ailsa almost a year ago to Lung Cancer - a huge shock, she was diagnosed on 15 August and gone 22 August. This was almost a year after having mammary tumors removed. From the outside, she looked healthy and still had tons of energy but her xray revealed the true extent of the cancer. I hope you have lots of happy times still with your girl: love her, give her all the tlc she needs and let her have a whale of a time when she feels like it

so sorry to hear your news,my staffie got diagnosed with a tumor last nov,she is 13yrs old and developed a lump right on her back end,the vet said it could have spread into her back passage,we had such a bad time at xmas, thinking this could be the last one we have with her,she keeps having regular check ups to see if the lump has grown,it has grown slightly, but she is still with us and we cherish every day that she is here.
