seems to have gone away now. the advert was at the bottom of the screen about one quarter of hight and full width and then it completely filled the screen as if it was dragged and dropped.

If you surf using Firefox or Chrome, install the "Ad Block Plus" extension.
I've never seen an advert on Sheffield Forum.

The (mature) woman adopting the foxy pose in her bedroom in the 'Mature Dating' ads, down the side of the 'discussions page' looks like Pete Burns from Dead or Alive!

There's no sign of your post on the forum maggidee. It's not been removed because I can see removed posts too.
The only thing I can suggest is that by some form of a blip whilst posting your post didn't get saved.

Thats odd because I saw the thread - didnt read it, mostly because it looked to be in the wrong place - main Sheffield forum.
EDIT - or you could just ignore me - Ive realised the thread has been reposted and Im getting my wires crossed. Sorry, not enough sleep.

I'm getting a film advert popping up over the bottom third of the screen on every about 5th page view, sounds like the ads reported in another thread earlier that they claim had been removed, I am logged in, it can be closed and I haven't tried any ad blockers yet. I am using Safari, maybe it just afflicts Stocksbridge residents ...

Why get deliberately uppity with this when the user you're quoting has already had an honest answer a month ago?
If you really dislike the forum that much, why are you posting here? It's not compulsory posting on SF you know, and this sort of thing just makes you look like you have an axe to grind against the forum.
When was the last time you read me calling anybody a troll? I ask people to keep on the topic of the thread or similar, but I don't just see people who disagree with each other (or me) as trolls. However, the constant carping does wear very thin at times and makes me wonder why you're on SF if you dislike the place so much.
