When I left school in 1975 I worked for about 18 months as apprentice Toolmaker there....Though not keen on factory work I did meet many differnt people there.

All that worked there were older than me, some much older so won't be around now Bert the dye sinker, Jim ? big Dave from Woodseats etc, did you work there at that time

Do you know what she did...Can remember it was my job to fetch the sandwhiches from the corner shop on Richards Road seems so long ago now.

She did secreterial work. 1970s time.

Thinking about she may have finished there by then as she was heavily pregnant that summer of 75.

I remember the Secretery being pregnant at that time, someone called Prendergast or something like that rings a bell somewhere..

Spear and Jackson Prospect Rd.

 

Bryan Bush was a person I knew, who I believe worked at Spear and Jackson. Bryan was an avid Labour and Trade Union man, and I knew him from the Trades and Labour Club on Duke Street. He last lived on Lambert Court or Castle Court[?] flats. I think he's dead now, and has been for some years. Anybody remember Bryan?
