bluecanary   13 #1 Posted August 26, 2016 According to the Star, police are investigating the murder of a 47 year old man. Both Walkley and Upperthorpe are mentioned in the article as locations. Very sad for all involved.  http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/breaking-news-two-arrested-on-suspicion-of-murder-in-sheffield-1-8090100   Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android  ---------- Post added 26-08-2016 at 11:40 ----------  Date should be 25/8/2016 - mods, please could you edit?   Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android
 Share this content via...
biotechpete   10 #2 Posted August 26, 2016 The location given is Fox Walk, which IIRC goes between Otley Walk and Fox Rd. Google has this as Hillfoot, but I guess it's on a border between Walkley and Upperthorpe. I'm not entirely clear when one starts and the other finishes. amazon123 Â Â 17 #3 Posted August 26, 2016 There seems to be quite a bit of crime in Walkley these days. I certainly wouldn't want to be anywhere near Ruskin Park at night.
 Share this content via...

Daven   10 #5 Posted August 26, 2016 Walkley does seem to be place that more that the average number of murders occur. I quick google of 'Walkley murders' will show you the events over the past few years and some way back as well. I won't post links for fear of offending someone related. Sad business. I mentioned Upperthorpe simply because the article I was referring to did, and I myself was uncertain where the street in question was.  Very very sad that others seem to be trying to start some petty row when such a tragic event has happened. Daven   10 #10 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) a google on other Sheffield areas (e.g. NetherEdge) also gives lots of hits for murders.  But are we not discussing Walkley ? Nether Edge is relevant how ?  ---------- Post added 26-08-2016 at 15:58 ----------  Totally astounded that you have interpreted my original post as an opportunity to "bleat on about location". Some folk would argue that black was white and vice versa ! I agree - totally disrespectful. Some family has lost a loved one. nightrider   13 #11 Posted August 26, 2016 But are we not discussing Walkley ? Nether Edge is relevant how ?  [.  Well there was an implication in what was posted that Walkley has unusually high levels of murders due to the number of google hits. I don't think Walkley is any worse than other areas in Sheffield.
 Share this content via...
