POUNDSWORTH   12 #25 Posted February 1, 2017 United have done great business over this window, not weakening the squad in any way . £1m plus for a reserve player, like Slew,Mellis etc is always a gamble, but we have sell on clauses in this deal, the lad wanted Premiership club status and did not want to stay. Cash in the bank , we did not need to sell, the offer was too good for all parties. Both Sheffield clubs have had to sell in the past, Uniteds Flo and Deane saga on the last day of a window. And the Owls desperate sale of the goalkeeper Grant come to mind.
 Share this content via...

POUNDSWORTH   12 #27 Posted February 3, 2017 You misunderstand, the fact is in the past we both, more so United, have had to sell to balance the books (in the past)... This sale is a profitable one, made from a reserve player that has not weakened the squad in a position we have more than enough cover too. We have not sold any first teamers this window..and maybe in my eyes only ..thats progress. Other promotion candidates ,like Bolton have been forced to sell there best player to balance the books, a sure weakening of their first eleven. Sorry you have taken my previous post personally, ..if i need to explain Grant was sold to save your club, to pay wages and stop the club folding, this window your club has spent £10m !! surely thats progress too!!........ Jerky   10 #28 Posted February 3, 2017 Not needed, good business. If/when we go up, our number 1 keeper isnt good enough. We can just buy 1. Good luck to him, everyones happy with this sale.
 Share this content via...
