Fiat Punto semi Automatic stuck in 'N' any ideas?

I have a 09 plate semi automatic Fiat Punto, its is stuck in neutral and wont drive.

Any ideas what is is? Or can anyone suggest somebody who can come to look at it as i cant drive it to a garage.

If you have to press the brake to get it to go in gear it may be the sensor switch on the brake pedal or system.

Hit the brake a few times without it running and then try.

Aparently these are manual gearboxes that are controlled electronically so as to act like an auto. A quick check on google shows that the electronic controls can be a problem and unfortunately not cheap to sort out im sorry to say.

My merc auto had a feature where if the red brake warning light came on the gear lever could not be moved out of N for safety reasons.

There was a release button under the gear lever surround to release it so maybe it has a similar feature...
