Lessons Have Been Learned

Some may describe one as a sentimental soul, this the case maybe

There have been lots of very sad days but of late mostly happy,

Targets and goals one sets oneself, goals that must be met,

Even the almost impossible you wouldn’t want to bet,

Accused of sometimes wearing, one’s heart on their sleeve,

At times can be over sensitive, and even quite naive,

In one’s heart there’s a passion, a will to match the best,

A curious kind of desire, is all part of the test,

The thought of possibly failing or a chance of being beat,

Means to move up a gear, or turn up the heat,

All has gone before them, lessons have been learned,

Taking nothing for granted, no chance ever spurned,
