I hit 60 Tomorrow .....Any Positives to look forward to ?

A couple of weeks ago, on this thread (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1499744), one of the members pointed out that

I now this is a family friendly form so I will be as cryptic as possible.

 

For men, our two dangles just below the gentlemans' sausage get lower/grow with age also. I hear wonderbra are considering making small push up bras to help some men cope.

I hit 60 Tomorrow .....Any Positives to look forward to ?

Lots to look forward to. Retirement and time to do our own thing is the best. And being happy with yourself and not giving a damn about what other people think of you.

Don't wait, enjoy yourself while you're still fit, and have fun.

Don't retire, go down to,say, three days a week if you must, but 60 is far too early to retire.

If you do so check if you will be signing a new contract as this would affect you if you should take redundancy in the future.

I am a Seenager a Senior Teenager

I have everything that I wanted as a Teenager

Only 60 years later.

I don’t have to go to school or work.

I get an allowance every week.

I have my own home.

I don’t have a curfew.

I have a driver’s license and a car.

The people I hang around with are

Not scared of life and live for today.

And I don’t have acne.

Life is great at 60

Look forward as every year is a bonus.

I don't think the OP is retiring but just hitting 60. I retired at 62 and love every minute of it. I cant understand why people don't want to retire early except for purely financial reasons.

In any case, have a good and happy day tuthill.

Oh and on the positives.. Free bus travel, prescriptions and eye tests.

I'm afraid I definitely can't afford to retire at 60... + 66 before I get the state pension

I do have an Nhs pension ,one of the gold plated ones we keep hearing about which will pay £71 a MONTH !

Anyway I do have "Free" Prescriptions + Eye tests ..

Although after paying national insurance contributions for 45 years they are not really free are they?... Though I've never begrudged paying these..

Looking forward to using my senior railcard I've had bought though...

Any other discount suggestions welcome ! Do B&Q still do the over 60 discounts?
