Electronic music's most influential pioneer has died

Recommended Posts

Ikutaro Kakehashi has died at the age of 87. He founded and ran the Roland corporation and was responsible for the TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines, as well as the legendary TB-303 bass synthesiser, without which there would have been no acid house.

All that 80s and 90s synth pop, electro and hip hop and all that acid house or acid trance can be traced back to Mr. Kakehashi. What a pioneer he was - thanks for everything sir, you truly are a legend.
