REUBEN 123 Â Â 10 #3 Posted June 27, 2017 If you need all 3 bedrooms for people to sleep in you won't pay any bedroom tax. If not why are you moving into a house more suited to a family. By the way I totally disagree with this disgraceful tax.
 Share this content via...
gomgeg   10 #4 Posted June 27, 2017 does any body kno whow much bedroom tax is per bedroom i have a 2 bed moving into a 3 There's no such tax, it's a removal of a spare room subsidy. If a house or flat is bigger than another one and everything else is equal it will be more expensive to either rent or buy. That's economics for you. dizzy_chick   10 #7 Posted June 27, 2017 Its 14% of the rent for one spare room and 25% for two or more spare rooms.  It's this. I assume it's a SCC or a Housing Association property? When you sign for the property, ask the housing officer to work out how much you will have to pay.
 Share this content via...
gomgeg   10 #8 Posted June 27, 2017 i have 2 children one with problems so he has to have his own room it will only be one room extra If your child has medical problems and needs their own room surely you will not have to pay extra. Ms Macbeth   75 #9 Posted June 27, 2017 It also only applies to tenants whose rent is paid via housing benefit. It's not an add on.
 Share this content via...
*_ash_*   88 #10 Posted June 27, 2017 i have 2 children one with problems so he has to have his own room it will only be one room extra   Not sure if I've read it correctly.  1 child needs (so I assume entitled) room of own (1 bedroom) that leaves another child who will have a bedroom (2 bedrooms) and you (3 bedrooms)  Or am I missing a brain-cell tonight
 Share this content via...
kidneystone   23 #11 Posted June 27, 2017 (edited) Children of a different sex have to share until one is 10 years old if you want to avoid the bedroom tax.  Two children of the same sex have to share until one of them turns 16.
