Yes I remember it quite well, I race walked it several times , being a member of Sheffield

United Harriers Walking Section.)

It was an handicap 6 miles walk , entrants setting off outside Hillfoot Bridge WMC at staggered times ( the slowest walker setting off first and the fastest walker setting off

last, being the scratch man ).

The course START 2 laps Hillfoot Bridge WMC Penistone Rd on to Owlerton Speedway , left Bradfield Rd , onto Hillsborough Corner ,left Langsett Rd ,Infirmary Rd , down Gilpin St

left at bottom on Penistone Rd to finish Hillfoot Bridge WMC.
