History of Bands Playing City Hall Anyone?

I saw The Hollies, the Small Faces, The Beatles all in the 60`s

Are they all you saw? there were lots more around in the 60s.

I went to most of those City Hall Concerts between early 1963 and late 1965. However two dates on the list intrigue me : February 11th 1963- the Beatles ? who's first Sheffield appearance was on the Helen Shapiro tour March 1963, (Their second was the Azena, Gleadless, April 2nd 1963) and the Rolling Stones, March 13th 1963 ? don't recall that one, as they had not yet released a record !

I remember seeing DaveDee Dozy Mick and Tich in the late sixties!! Also Boney M in the mid seventies.

forgot family !! roger chapman ,amazing vocalist .

Saxon , Iron Maiden , The Ian GILLAN band to name a few , But skipping the afternoon off school to go to Wilson Pecks and queue for LED ZEPPLIN tickets had to be a highlight , but not sure that it beats the MOTORHEAD gig , I met Lemmy outside he came over to look and sit on my Bike and asked if i enjoyed the gig . That was the original Lemmy, Eddy Clarke and phil Taylor line up GREAT DAYS.

Steve , saw Heap playing there then just after went on hols with Jeff and we bought T shirts with "EASY LIVING" printed on em . wonder if he will remember when we meet up.

Not strictly on this tread , but does anyone remember going to the "classic" in Fitzalan Square to watch music films , i saw a LED ZEPPLIN , a FAMILY and a STRAWBS film , And some old Biker films that usually caused a riot.

it woudnt surprise me if he still has the t shirt jim. couple of yrs ago we went to se moulon rouge 30 yr anniversay gig, we had mutual friends in the band.jeff turned up in original t. shirt .he was roadie then i was amazed it still fit him:o

Nice one , I can remember Jeff roadieing for a heavy metal band , was it Panza Division ?. As far as the T shirt goes The word Tight has to come into it somewhere , either Jeff or the shirt.

How about some Proper bands from the 50s and 60s hardly a guitar

or electronic keyboard in sight.
