CarolW   10 #39 Posted January 26, 2007 Ok, I need a bit of assistance here...  I had an e-mail quiz a few weeks ago - about different sweets and choccy bars...... I've managed to do most of it, there's just 5 I can't get...  For example, "High Class Thoroughfare" = "Quality Street" "Dark Occult" = "Black Magic" "Assorted Girls" = "Dolly Mixture"  Now you all have the idea - the 5 clues I can't answer are  "Noisy Insect" "One Who Wanders" "It's a Party" "Easily Blown" "Reward"  Any ideas :  Please!!!!! Emmwa   10 #42 Posted August 21, 2016 Ok, what was the spearmint bar. It was pink and like an oblong waffle shape. Quite crisp when bitten but then became a little chewy?  Did you ever find out? I've been longing to find out about this pink waffle bar for ages! It was my favourite.  ---------- Post added 21-08-2016 at 22:28 ----------  It was wrapped in paper a bit see through like a sort of grease proof paper I think
 Share this content via...
Huxley   10 #43 Posted August 21, 2016 I would have thought "reward" was more likely to be Treat...as in Treats??  ---------- Post added 21-08-2016 at 16:40 ----------  and maybe "it's a party" could be celebrations????
 Share this content via...

stpetre   12 #46 Posted March 8, 2017 MINTOES isnt spelt the same as PACERS! :hihi:  'Mintoes' which were single sweets and cream in colour , were made by 'Nuttall's of Doncaster'. They made 'Butterscotch too.  ---------- Post added 08-03-2017 at 18:56 ----------  Apart from the loose sweets the best you could get that a kid could afford were; 'Mars bars. 'Bounty' and 'Aero' Chocolate or peppermint. Then if one had more 'pennies', there was 'Cadbury's (of Bourneville)', 'Terry's (of York), Needler's (of Hull). My favourite was 'Bluebird' (chocolate and toffee), forget who made them, perhaps 'Sharp's' ?
 Share this content via...
