Yes, I'm truly mad for having a taste in films that has changed somewhat since I was eight years old.

Face it, Star Wars is a series of glorified kids' films.

I am an 80s baby (born in 83) but looking back at films most of my top 10 list come from 80's films:

The Goonies
Labyrinth
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Buellers Day Off
Footloose (i refuse to watch the remake)
Cocktail
Dirty Dancing

The Breakfast Club was good , but two films really stick in my mind , No Blade of Grass in the 1970's , when crops failed and bikers killed people just to get some food , the other film was "They Live" (198 , I believe it's coming out 6/12 on Blu-Ray .
I recently bought the dvd after 24 years , because some aspects of the film appeared to be relevant to today, eg wholescale brainwashing of the population . This is particularly true of young women and make-up, don't they realise how shallow and basically thick they appear to the rest of us who have a functioning brain ? Why can't their teachers teach that TRUE BEAUTY lies within ? They Live is a wake-up call to humanity ....

I am big fan of 80’s horror movies, so mine is “A Nightmare on Elm Street” which came out in 1984.

Released in 1978.

Unless you mean Grease 2 with Michelle Pfeiffer. Though I don't know many people who would call that one of their favourites.

Yes but it did nt show in Sheffield until 1981,at the ABC,now derelict.I made some pennies selling photos of John Trovolta, and others,to punters in the queue.I managed to borrow Dads crepe sole shoes and the rest to look the part.

I Preferred Saturday Night Fever, the John Travolta look had more appeal in that film, especially the walk. I also liked the music better.

Hope the OP doesn't mind me mentioning a 70s film.

I'm surprised to hear that. Did it show anywhere else in the UK in 1978 ?

It would have been really odd for Grease not getting shown in 1978, hot on the heels of Saturday Night Fever.
