Remember Surprise Peas

Recommended Posts

Hi Stpetre, I think i got the firms name wrong i think it was

Dunford and Elliots.

I also remember Fletchers but the rolling mills was further up

and opposite side. Thanks for that, Brian

Yes Brian, Dunford and Elliott it was. There were two Forge/Mill facilities and there both opposite the Brewery and the bottom of Limestone Cottage Lane. One was called 'Claywheels Lane Rolling Mill' the other was 'Niagara Forge'(which was nearer Penistone Road). I forget which one was D&E.

I was trying to confirm my memory of some yellow plastic colander/sieves I believe were free with Surprise peas. Anyone else remember them? I have 3!
