Justin Smith   10 #1 Posted September 22, 2009 We went down to see the Severn Bore over the weekend, and it was great, well worth seeing. But why are there always people who spoil things for others ? One of the reasons the Bore is so impressive is to see a large wave advancing rapidly up a smooth river surface. You can also hear it and it`s eerie..... So what do you get ? Selfish gits in speedboat(s) on it and in front of it. Not only does their engine noise mask the sound of the Bore, but their wake(s) diminish it as a spectacle. It`s still worth going to, but it`d be better with no humans anywhere near it, esp in powered boats.....
 Share this content via...
Minimo   59 #2 Posted September 22, 2009 It's something I would love to see, but I agree it would be spoiled by human interference with the spectacle.
 Share this content via...
Agent Orange   11 #3 Posted September 22, 2009 I'd love to surf it, but maybe not with powerboats zipping all over the show.
 Share this content via...
Justin Smith   10 #4 Posted September 22, 2009 I'd love to surf it, but maybe not with powerboats zipping all over the show.  To be honest I`d rather see it without surfers, but surfers would be better than power boats....... Stan Tamudo   10 #5 Posted September 22, 2009 If you want to see something similar but without the boats etc go to Gainsborough and try to catch the Trent Aegir. It's not as big as the Severn bore but it's still quiet impressive and it's only a 45 minute drive from Sheffield.
 Share this content via...

We`ll try again but probably only for a 5* bore. It`s more than 45 mins by car for us, we`re on the West side of Sheffield !
 Share this content via...
