Theresa May has not ruled out yet more cuts for the disabled!

Recommended Posts

IV never known a UK party/ government who seem L bent on targeting the most valuable people in our society and even the media like to play along with horror stories that never show the real struggle to get any benefits.

I'm fully expecting someone to post the they someone who's ' swinging the lead' story and more often than simply don't know the ture facts of that persons disability not all disabilities can be seen from the outside mental health is the classic example of this. I'm truly shocked that someone who is trying to get elected is so open and even laughs about her proposals about yet more harsh cuts to Personal Independence Payment that replaced Disability Living Allowance by making it harder to get any points . The government has already made cuts to Employment and Support Allowance anyone placed in the Work Related Group now only gets the same rate has people claiming Jobseekers Allowance .

I find it really sad that the hard work of so many people who frought long and hard to make disabled people' s lives better is been demolished by what I can only describe by ultra right party that increasingly resembles some neo Nazi party it is ironic because the Tories actually brought in DLA and Incapacity Benefit in the 1990s under John Major. No doubt May's supporters will laugh and mock but be warned an abled body person can become tomorrow' s disabled person or your child could be born with a lifelong disability no asks to be disabled life is hard enough without a government who only desire is too push you into provetry.

Please don't throw "Nazi" around. It devalues the argument. This government is NOT National Socialist. There are many words, or insults, I could feel justified in using.

"Nazi" is not one. It both dilutes real nazism or similar, and looks like the old "typical, call everyone you don't agree with Hitler" to people who may not share your view but might have been persuaded by

Very true, but there are strong authoritarian-right traits. Pretty much like any government of any kind over the last 20 years. Only the recent absorption of UKIP's agenda has ratcheted things up a lot, along with blatant populism.

However far you think it's gone it is clearly in the wrong direction and deeply un-British. I don't recognise a lot of the values that seem to be driving this government as being ones I indenting with. Probably about 60% of those who bother to vote will agree.

Have you an example or quote of the Conservatives stating there will be more cuts for those on disability benefits or any other benefits?

"Nazi" and "fascist" are not synonyms. And neither concept actually holds genocide of another "race" as an integral part of the concept.

It is not fake news: the report is about something not happening: it is not news... which doesn't make it not right.

Well, the nazis scapegoated and killed Jews. Our society is scapegoating and killing the disabled.

The Nazis herded their victims into gas chambers. Our bureaucrats don't have the stomach for that, instead, they create and administer disgusting systems (Atos etc) that remove peoples benefits, so they commit suicide.

About what specifically?

You're at work early.

It's not a specific warning, it's a general one. This kind of thing could be an indicator of continuation of austerity policies for example. Will the continuation of austerity be in the Tory manifesto....

Have you ever thought that yes, some innocents may have been caught up in the PIP debacle but then again do we know how many people have been reviewed and refused further payments due to their mobility improving or not relying on their carer as much?

Don't forget that there are different components to PIP, not just a mobility car.

My wife has recently been reviewed and as we suspected she has had her mobility cut but her carers allowance raised.

We are grateful for the allowance given by the state to assist my wife in her mobility but are more thankful that she has regained mobility.

I am sorry for the few that may have been wrongly diagnosed as not requiring PIP payment but, how many feel aggrieved because they have been receiving it that long that it actually feels more like a right to the payments and just factor that money in to their normal income.

This is not a gripe at ' undeserving claimants' just a reminder that not everyone who has been denied further PIP payments may require it.
