RiffRaff 10 #1 Posted August 10, 2016 Hugh, 25, has just inherited his dad's fortune of £8.3 billion - and he's still only the third richest person in the UK! It was reputed that his 21st birthday party cost a cool £5 million, with the likes of Michael McIntyre entertaining. He was quoted then saying "It's the beginning of a new era in my life, and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead..." Presumably the challenges won't include worrying when his next gas bill is due! £8.3 billion.....wow!
 Share this content via...
geared 268 #2 Posted August 10, 2016 He also inherits his fathers title, which I think should have been abolished some time ago.
 Share this content via...

Santo 10 #4 Posted August 10, 2016 I read this news last night. The Daily Mail headline amounted to, 'third richest man dies.' I hope my legacy amounts to more than my net worth. He is being discussed on the Jeremy Vine show now. Some people seem to confuse being worth £9bn with having £9bn cash in the bank. He owned half of Mayfair, which is now passed on to his son, who is unlikely to liquidate his family dynasty.
 Share this content via...
geared 268 #5 Posted August 10, 2016 No with property like that you'd just sit on it and live off the proceeds. I'm sure he's not short of a few bob though.
 Share this content via...

RiffRaff 10 #10 Posted August 10, 2016 Now there's a contradiction in terms. Agreed. On a par with Harry Hill.
 Share this content via...
Berberis 10 #11 Posted August 10, 2016 He only died yesterday! They are reporting the son is to inherit his estate worth X billion. Children pay inheritance tax on estates over £325,000 or they have to go through probate which would take months or even years. I'm fairly certain that someone with an estate of that size will have taken steps to protect as much as they can from Mr Taxman.. I know I would..
