Why is general discussions, no longer general discussions?

Hi Everybody

Have been a forummer for a blimmin loong time. 9 years in fact.

The forum was so very different back then....

Where IS everyone these days??

Is it because of Faceboook and Twitter?

I'm enjoying the lack of so many vicious trolls....

But by the same token....the forum seems quite sterile and almost dead.

What's the compromise??

And SF now appears to be a metaphor for life at large

I don't buy it. Never have. It's the whiny sound of someone who breaks the rules and then gets all offended when they're pulled up for it.

Do you think the Forum is sterile? I don't. There's always lots of opinion on here which is refreshing. Sometimes people can go a bit over the top and become offensive, but not usually.
