DUBKASM

Dubkasm is at the heart of the international roots movement. The duo comprises of saxophonist and melodica player Digistep and DJ Stryda. They recently celebrated 20 years in the industry; cultivating a solid record label, a radio show (Sufferah's Choice) with global reach and a live show playing dances with the best sound systems in the world, including Aba Shanti-I and Iration Steppas. Dubkasm have rocked stages from Glastonbury to Outlook Festival, and venues from Europe to Japan.

Whether collaborating with top vocalists like Solo Banton, Afrikan Simba and Rudey Lee or simply as a duo, their live show is unique and explosive, with heavyweight basslines, inspiring vocals, vintage dub styles and live instruments. DJ Stryda hosts and selects from his vast collection of vinyl and exclusive dubplates, while Digistep adds vintage dub effects, mystical melodica and firing saxophone.

Dubkasm last appeared at Dubcentral back in 2012, a legendary takeover session at The Harley. We are very excited to bring them back for a long overdue re-visit.

OPERATION SOUND SYSTEM

Operation is a custom built, hand crafted, reggae & dub sound system and record label based in UK. Live in session Operation Sound is a raw reggae, dub, steppas, roots & culture experience not to be missed.

Operation Sound System has been linked with Dubcentral for nearly 2 decades with regular appearances at Dubcentral going back to our early days at the infamous (and sorely missed) Everyone Centre in Sheffield and lifelong friendship between Nick Operation and Dubcentral’s Gee Shakti.

Last year Operation celebrated 20 years of running the sound system with a string of performances across the UK and Europe and the release of a vocal & dub Showcase on Operation records featuring UK dub pioneer Daddy Teacha.

Operation Records has featured artists including; Alexia, Don-Fe, Prince Jamo, Daddy Teacha, Bunnington Judah & Ricky Grant. Operation records has support from sound systems and selectas from all over the world.

DUBCENTRAL are honored to have our first debut DJ set from DJ Kat Sugi. She's been taking Sheffield by storm at the moment playing at Vibrations, Yellow Arch Studios, The Beer Engine, Hagglers Corner to name a few venues and events with her funky, soul, global bass and hip hop madness! Katsugi also plays so many other genres it's hard to keep up, she's just a really versatile DJ! :-) We're really chuffed to have Katsugi alongside Dubcentral, she's a Sheffield raving crew storm trooper!
