A trust is a vehicle to stop people getting the money.

No, it's not.

Yes I could do with a good definition. I will Google it.

A trust is most often found where there is:

a. ownership by more than one person; or

b. divergence between legal ownership and beneficial ownership; or

c. the owner wishes to create a trust so as to limit the successor's power of disposal; or

d. the beneficiary is a minor, or not able to manage own affairs.
