Alcoblog   10 #1 Posted July 30, 2015 Like many other people, I suffer quite often from agonising leg craps when in bed of a night. Normally, I just pop along to yhe local chemist and buy off the shelf Crampex tablets ... normally (from memory) about six quid for twenty four tablets.  Due to another bout of cramps recently, I was pretty disturbed to find that these tablets are nigh on impossible to get hold of. I've tried loads of chemists with (apart from one packet last week) no joy. Everywhere's sold out!  Amazon is your friend alcoblog, I told myself, and sparked up the computer. How much?! :gag:  One hundred and fifty quid for forty eight! ... Jeez!  To be honest, I thought it was some kind of mistake, but looking through the tablets available, that seems to be the going price! Anyone got any ideas why this is? Alcoblog   10 #9 Posted July 30, 2015 I suffer from leg cramps ,do these tablets work . Yes, if you can afford them. Between you and me though, you'd probably be better going for the cheaper alternative of crystal meth ... it probably won't cure leg cramps, but you'll probably have a good time having them. scrappy   10 #10 Posted July 30, 2015 Looking at the active ingredients of these tablets they seem to be a combination of calcium, vitamin D and a form of vitamin B. https://www.medicines.org.uk/emcmobile/medicine/25262  You could take Vitamin supplements of all 3 and it may have the same effect for you (and be considerably cheaper)
 Share this content via...
Daven   10 #11 Posted July 31, 2015 Has the cause of your leg cramps been investigated ? There are quite a few causes of leg cramps. Sometimes a blood test at your GP is all that is needed to be able to rectify them.
 Share this content via...
Alcoblog   10 #12 Posted July 31, 2015 Has the cause of your leg cramps been investigated ? There are quite a few causes of leg cramps. Sometimes a blood test at your GP is all that is needed to be able to rectify them.  No, Having read articles such as this, I didn't think that wasting a GP's time would be prudent. I don't have them all the time, normally I have bouts of them every few months or so ... the (non-prescription) Crampex tablets normally cope admirally with them. By the way ... although this isn't me, is what cramps look like ... not very nice! However, due to the mysterious lack of these tablets, a visit to the doctor's may be my next step.
