tinfoilhat   11 #13 Posted August 22, 2014 Why is it just about men? Plenty of women pay for sex too, isn't it time we dragged that out of the taboo sphere?  You don't often hear of women cruising red light districts bringing house prices down. Coutts   10 #15 Posted August 22, 2014 You don't often hear of women cruising red light districts bringing house prices down.  Women would never pay men for sex because it goes against everything they stand for and would threaten their role in society. As a general rule, sex is literally THE ONLY benefit a woman brings to the table, so they have to ensure they guard and get top dollar for their only asset. A woman has to make hay whilst the sun shines before the onset of 30. So the notion that a woman would ever pay a man for sex is quite absurd.  ---------- Post added 22-08-2014 at 10:58 ----------  I'd imagine they are more discrete and use escort services and stuff instead.  That's just a myth, they might use a male escort as a companion for dinner or something, but they'd never pay a man for sex. Coutts   10 #17 Posted August 22, 2014 Not exactly...  No, that's just nonsense. I guarantee that very few men if any make a living from begin paid for sex by women, it's laughable to believe it so.  "But Nicole says that in the West Midlands, the men on her books offer rates of around £60 because of a shortage of work at the moment. In this economic climate, times are tough, even for the male escort.  Any man who thinks he can get paid for sex from women, good luck with that, you'd be better off getting a job in McDonalds as over the course of a year, you'd earn more. Don't believe me, go sign up with a male escort agency. And on the very off chance that you get a rich woman offering to pay you money for sex after a date, she will be so ugly you won't be able to perform.  It's honestly ludicrous. Cyclone   10 #18 Posted August 22, 2014 If it is a problem, we normally ignore it. It wants sorting out, is it ok between consenting adults, or is it wrong in principle? I believe it is wrong, just like it is wrong to sell your own organs.  I don't see on what moral basis you can declare it to be wrong.  Ultimately it's not massively different than selling your labour. And also, ultimately, it's not for us to impose our views on someone else.  So if someone wants to sell, and someone else wants to buy, what gives you anyone else the right to tell them they can't? Or that what they are doing is wrong?  ---------- Post added 22-08-2014 at 11:18 ----------  Women would never pay men for sex because it goes against everything they stand for and would threaten their role in society. I believe it is wrong, just like it is wrong to sell your own organs. In principle there is nothing wrong with charging for sex. It's is no different than charging for any other attribute or skill, like laying bricks or providing IT support. In practice, however, it tends to attract unsavoury criminal elements into the role of pimps and traffickers etc... partly (or indeed mainly) due to its illegal and taboo nature.  If you think it is wrong your really going to have to say why.  jb
 Share this content via...

Cyclone   10 #21 Posted August 22, 2014 The ridiculous caricature of misogyny that you present.  Maybe it's a feminist ploy to make misogynists look really silly and out of touch with reality.
 Share this content via...
Coutts   10 #22 Posted August 22, 2014 The ridiculous caricature of misogyny that you present. Maybe it's a feminist ploy to make misogynists look really silly and out of touch with reality.  It's not misogyny at all. Just a simple fact. It's not my fault that Men only need women for sex. I didn't make the rules.  The average professional male has absolutely no need to have a woman in his life on a permanent basis whatsoever other than for sex. He doesn't need a female for ANYTHING else. WHAT else could he possibly need a woman for apart from sex? Genuinely? What?
 Share this content via...
beer   10 #23 Posted August 22, 2014 All men pay for sex. We never get any without spending some money first.  You may get lucky on West Street on saturday night but your still paying for the taxi!  I don't know. Most of the taxi drivers get a bit shirty about folk having sex on the back seat.
 Share this content via...

At best it's just your perception of how things are. You stating it definitely doesn't make it a fact. From previous threads it would actually reduce the chance of it being a fact. The average professional male has absolutely no need to have a woman in his life on a permanent basis whatsoever other than for sex. He doesn't need a female for ANYTHING else. WHAT else could he possibly need a woman for apart from sex? Genuinely? What?  If you don't already know, then no attempt to explain will work. And you are living a truly sad life.
