johnsbucket   10 #1 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) Has tha been too little chippy ont corner of street, Normally call for our lass and me on a Friday neet, Usually get a carton of peas and Haddock and chips twice, Bit of salt and Vinegar makes it taste reet nice, Percy and his missus Hilda, have had shop for a while, But not very often did you see Old Percy smile, Not cheapest but its quality that matters, Says Percy as he lovingly stirs his batter, Yes Duck what can I get yer? With a welcoming smile from wife Hilda, Bag of chips please says young’un have you any scraps, Yes duck are they open or wrapped? Next in queue is miserable Sid, People thought that he and Percy were related, Sid worked for Undertakers, driving the hearse, Usual! He says, love, how’s things then Perc? Not bad! Says Percy, Has tha been busy? Buried her today can you remember Old Lizzie, Oh! Heard she deed, poor old lass, Often waived when she wandered past, Three pounds says Hilda, if you please, Thank you says Sid, next in queue is me, Just waiting for Chips she says won’t be long duck, She gives Percy that hurry up look.
