johnsbucket 10 #1 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Some worked in steel some worked in pit All have what we call Yorkshire grit, Working men’s clubs where they all meet, Open these places seven days a week, Play bingo, then on comes turn, Some cover band and odd comedian, Tha can play snooker in some of these joints, Card games like cribbage amassing points, Wives sometimes make sandwiches to share with mates, The occasional pork pie and some fancy cakes, Music will start and some will get up and dance, Some been married more than fifty year still like romance, Waltzing away and the occasional jive, Funny how music makes folk come alive, Members everyone of each particular club, Not just for family but community hub. johnsbucket Edited September 6, 2014 by johnsbucket Share this post Link to post Share on other sites Share this content via...
