johnsbucket   10 #1 Posted September 2, 2014 Sundays have some very fond memories for me, Would go to Grans for her special Cream Tea, She would in morning bake a fresh loaf of bread, Sliced it and then butter she would gently spread, Do a round of sandwiches usually boiled ham. In a pot she would place some of her homemade jam, As well as the bread, she would make a cake and scones, Which were a particular favorite of grandson John's, The scones she would cut in half, but butter one side, Place jam on top, which the cream would hide, Then other half of scone sat on the thick cream, A sprinkle of icing sugar, taste like a dream, Make a big pot of tea and cover with a cosy, Set table with her floral tea plates she got from Aunt Rosie. We would tuck in like we had never been fed, These were the words Gran often said!  johnsbucket
 Share this content via...
