phil752   10 #337 Posted June 30, 2016 The analysis comes from how people voted at the last election and what we know of which way they were likely to vote. Yep assumptions made, but I would suggest Poling shows them to be consistent with the results.  I'm not a huge fan of Corbyns, but I have to say this looks like a huge witch-hunt to me.  He clearly got the Labour vote out to remain, they've won the mayor of London race, they've done well in by-elections and they've improved in Council elections.  If Andy Burnham had've won the leadership race people would be saying what a good job he is doing with these results, but for some reason the establishment are going after Corbyn.  Are you talking about the GE or the referendum
 Share this content via...

Mister M Â Â 1,608 #339 Posted June 30, 2016 I just skipped through the list of Labour MPs. It seems it is. Â That's your view, albeit a biased and jaundiced one. However I wouldn't be to quick to crow when the best that the Tories can do is either Liam Fox or Michael Gove.
 Share this content via...
andyofborg   11 #340 Posted June 30, 2016 I'm not a huge fan of Corbyns, but I have to say this looks like a huge witch-hunt to me.  corbyn's people do come across like they are on a witch hunt but thats the hard left for you.  corbyn himself is a liability, he's a nice, principled person but you need to be more than that to lead the country  in a general election, he will do much worse than michael foot  He clearly got the Labour vote out to remain, they've won the mayor of London race, they've done well in by-elections and they've improved in Council elections.  dunno about the council elections but i seriously doubt that he made much difference to the labour vote and he was kept out of the way in london.  khan would have won regardless of the leader  ---------- Post added 30-06-2016 at 23:43 ----------  Even by Corbyns standards comparing Israel to ISIS  if you read the actual quote then he didn't actually make that comparison, however it was a stupid thing to say, more so given the environment in which it was said.  then standing by saying nothing while a Jewish MP was harrangued out of the room in tears by one of his momentum thugs at the launch of his initative to tackle the pervasive antisemitism that infests labour under his leadership was pretty spectacular.  that really is unforgivable
 Share this content via...

Every by election that Corbyn has faced, i believe he has increased the overall percentage of his vote, he had a Labour candidate win in the London mayoral election ..and Bristol too i think, and in recent polls they have been shown him to be quite comparable to the tories...so where is your proof he would fail at an election? Labour won recent by-elections in constituencies they already held. The council election results in May were slightly worse for Labour than comparative results under Ed Miliband and look what happened to him. People will not vote for Corbyn to be PM.  Corbyn managed to get trashed by Cameron at PMQ on Wednesday. this was the PM that had just caused the worst political crisis in Britain since 1945 and he still managed to wipe the floor with Corbyn.  Corbyn is hopeless and should go. banjodeano   31 #343 Posted July 1, 2016 We'll, we can only go on the results that we have, and he has done well to say he had no support from his colleagues.. And the polls don't show he is unelectable do they,? You can dismiss him all you want, but we are in in chartered waters, so nobody can say for sure.. As for the PMQ's .. Well that's just a puppet show for the fools, we know Cameron never answers a question, and when stuck just waffles on about a strong economy regardless what the question is, you may like the put downs and rehearsed script, but most people like a good debate with answers
 Share this content via...
Quik   10 #344 Posted July 1, 2016 Given he can't fill at last count 67 shadow ministerial positions the idea that he is elect able is beyond laughable.
 Share this content via...

Then were good to go And also, if he is unelectable, then why is the Tory owned media, urging people to become a Labour Party member to vote against him,??? Please explain that one.. Yeah, Tories urging people to join labour.. Lol Edited July 1, 2016 by banjodeano
 Share this content via...

Yeah, Tories urging people to join labour.. Lol  What do you suppose will happen to those Blairite MPs? There's an awful lot of them. What makes you think that if you de-select them they'll go quietly. You're creating a new SDP. Do you really want to split the "left" vote across the country? You're already losing voters left, right and centre to UKIP.
 Share this content via...
