Treadmill vs "real" running.

I'll probably have to start on the treadmill due to injury. I've had a calf injury for over 12 months, I tried ignoring it and working round it, but eventually had to admit defeat when it became so painful I could barely walk.

 

I've not run now for about 12 months and spent a kings ransom on VERY expensive physio. I've not done anything such as circuit training or running which I love.

 

My physio said we were getting close to running and thenI had a fall while hiking and cut my shin to the bone the length of a 9cm cut.

 

I'm planning to get back into it (treadmill) circuits in 3 weeks. Anyone offer some advice ?
