Describing a 1st draft to a none writer.

Recommended Posts

Am about to start a blog post covering the concept of a first draft. Writing it from the perspective of describing it to a none writer who has never attempted such an endeavour.

Kind of like a rough guide highlighting stuff your bound to encounter such as;

- The blank page,

- The first line/paragraph that will never make it into the final draft.

- How the first part of a 1st draft feel completely different to the second part.

Would love some other perspectives. Is their anything you guys come across writing 1st drafts would surprise a none writer. Or just how it feels, which bit you enjoy, which bit you dread.

I'd liken it to putting all the food on the table, then by the second draft, realising what you need to cook.

Spelling might be a help.
