Sawdust in smoothie powder

Recommended Posts

:help:Im trying to get healthy and have started making smoothies.

I recently bought a powder from a healthfood shop to put in the smoothie and it appears to have a high percentage of sawdust in it:huh:.

Does anyone know where I could get this powder analysed? I have set fire to a small amount of it and it smoulders & smells like wood. Surely this is illegal or something.

Fortunately EU regulations demand all products to list all ingredients. It is not likely it contains sawdust unless it explicitly states it does.

Can it be used for lighting the fire?

It's likely to go by another name anyway

You sure it's not some sort of cereal base turd? I doubt it would contain saw dust. :suspect:

It will be like celery, minus or very low calories ;)

It occurs to me that it might be why they refer to it as burning calories, obviously you need something to ignite.

Hmm I'd be tempted to make my own smoothies, rather than buy a powder with sawdust in. If you want a crunchy texture just add oats or a Weetabix.
