it was a serious question. and thanks, what album? it's because i can remember at the golden jubilee, brian may played it on buckingham palace.

 

The album was 'A night at the opera'. The single (remember those little black discs?) was in the charts in the summer of '76 when my friend Marie Cooke celebrated her 18th birthday. At her party the DJ played God save the queen by Queen and my boyfriend stood up. He was the only 1 to do so.

It has to be 'The Red Flag' we will call it the UK Flag, after all Labour took the English Rose for their emblem so we can take the 'Red Flag' for our anthem

 

I don't think that there are any other tunes as stirring, or that could compete with 'The Marseillaise'
