Why is Dave moving to channel 12 on freeview ?

Anyone know ? Just seen it's happening tommorrow, didn't see anything until today

Because they want a higher EPG position, as it increases viewing figures and therefore advertising.

Yesterday is owned by the same group as Dave (BBC Worldwide / Scripps), so it's just a matter of them swapping over rather than money changing hands.

Dave is the most popular UKTV channel so they want to move it as high up as they can.

Especially since they are now starting to produce their own new shows rather than just air repeats.

Although the channel numbers won't change for Sky and Virgin customers.
